Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering

The minimum meal plan size is 4. Besides that, you are free to order only bulk or snack items, in which case if your order does not total $100, a $5 local delivery surcharge will be applied. Regions further than 3 hours from our facilities will pay $10 for delivery on orders under $100.

Yes! When checking out please note your allergy in the food notes section of the checkout. In the event that you’ve inadvertently selected a meal which contains one of your allergens, we will reach out to you to discuss alternatives.

Each week when we rollover the menu, we assign similar meals to replace the meals you had in the previous week. You receive an email on Tuesday letting you know what these replacements are. Don’t like any? Simply follow the link and select ones you would like. Otherwise, set it and forget it!

We understand everyone is busy, and can, in most cases, accommodate late orders. However, please reach out to us first, as the menu on the website may be changed to the following week’s offerings. In that case, we can generally still offer a late order, but by email or text message interaction.

We do our very best to keep our menu as fresh as possible, believing that variety is the key to enjoyment and progress. While we love hearing that old favorites are missed, we cannot guarantee that any meal will ever return. If you haven’t seen it in over 2 months, you may never see it again.

Delivery

Local deliveries (PA & DE) occur between 11AM and 8PM on Sundays. Boston deliveries occur on Monday. If you have specific concerns about food spoilage, we can provide a more specific estimate based on your town. Contact us!

On our homepage, you can lookup your zip code to confirm. If it says we don’t deliver, reach out to us so we can see if it’s feasible!

We greatly appreciate the opportunity to re-use our bags and ice packs in an effort to increase sustainability! Please leave them outside weekly to be picked up by your driver, except in event of predicted rain. If the weather is to be bad, please hold onto the items until the next week. As for containers, being as many towns in our area do not accept them for curbside recycling, we do! As long as you provide them cleaned, we will take care of recycling them so they don’t wind up in the landfill.

Generally the answer to this question has to be a no. If it is a one-off concern, sometimes we are able to accommodate requests for Monday deliveries on a case-by-case basis. Reach out to us when you have a need. Otherwise, we are able to offer pickup services from a small number of partners in the area.

While our drivers do not receive less than minimum wage like other tipped professions, they do go the extra mile for you each and every time there is inclement weather, and ensuring deliveries occur as planned on holidays as it is nearly impossible for us to modify our schedule.

Although we remained contact-free since COVID, all drivers welcome the opportunity to ensure your delivery goes however you like, so please don’t hesitate to reach out once you get your ETA text message Sunday morning! For these reasons, tipping our drivers is NEVER required, but always appreciated.

Yes! Our facility is in Carbondale, so it may not be the most convenient. But if you would like, we can accommodate pickup requests on Sundays between 9AM and 2PM. Pickup from our partners at various facilities around the area is limited based on fridge space. Contact us to find out more.

Fit AF meals ship in insulated cooler bags with ice packs and are good to sit out for awhile. However, once they are on your property they are your responsibility. If you require extra ice packs, please leave a delivery note at checkout when placing your order.

Shelf Life / Reheating

Generally 7 days is the maximum. Since some ingredients are prepared Friday, we recommend freezing anything you plan to eat Friday or later upon delivery. They are good to freeze right in the original packaging! Meals containing fish we recommend eating by Wednesday.

We advise against freezing mayo-based sauces, lettuce and baby carrots. These items will stay in the refrigerator longer than the 7 day window, so remove them from the meal prior to freezing.

Our usual containers are not oven-safe. However, we do have an alternative. If interested, contact us.

First, remove any soufflé cups. Many people opt to use the lid to cover the meal to prevent messes. We recommend utilizing a damp paper towel instead. This helps keep the moisture in the meal during the reheating process . Start with 1 minute. Check the temperature, give a little stir to rices and the like and continue to heat in 30 second intervals until desired temperature is reached. Everyone’s microwave is different!

Fit AF

Please direct any questions or feedback through our contact form or via text message to (570) 281-8574. In the event of a time-sensitive concern you would prefer to discuss on the phone, the best number to call is (570) 507-7988.

Of course! We love hearing from people about how Fit AF is working for them and if they want to go to the next level or need advice with any other aspect of health. We have a team of nutritionists and dietitians that work with clients on a one-on-one basis to get them to their goals using evidence-based practices only. Reach out to us with specific questions.

The most unique aspect of Fit AF is that we offer three individual portion sizes. Other services rarely offer even two. This is perfect if you and your significant other are on a path to a healthier lifestyle together and require different nutrition levels. Or if you’re going it alone, it grants you the opportunity to step down or up over time based on your health goals without having to spend extra time studying the options each week.

We pride ourselves on only using the highest quality foods as well as limiting ourselves from using traditional restaurant ingredients. Wild fish, grass-fed meats, completely natural antibiotic & hormone-free poultry, and locally sourced produced our staples on our menu. We refuse to cook with heavily processed ingredients such as industrial oils and will only use olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, or sesame oil in our recipes.

Otherwise, the fact that we offer our services locally sets us apart from the big nationwide companies as the food you receive will always be fresher than what they can offer when going through parcel handlers to achieve delivery.
